Protrusion of reality
Modern day people are living in a world filled with images and representations. I find those mass-produced images losing their own aura and originality as time goes on. I want to restore the originals of images or grant new originals to them. Focusing on the fact that signs tend to lack sense of essence as they are simplified and converted to flat two-dimensional representations, I tried to apply actual objects for what the signs represent. This work enables us to accept a sign as a living image which we can see and experience in the three-dimensional world by replacing the image of the simplified, standardized and symbolized sign in the two-dimensional plane with an object in existence

My own rule applied to this work was to put the directivity, or the situation that it indicates, into the frame, as it was.
The object sticks out of the frame, since the ordinary object was framed, as it was, and this protruded object symbolizes
a living object in an unprocessed and pure state to escape from the simplified representation.
Lively signs are founded in the everyday life ;
fork and dish on kitchen table. The fork is pointing up and left. Also I find a sign that was captured at a café ;
I was able to indicate a direction of which coffee is spilled; up and right, the situation that was found on my desk,
and a pen on the book without attention that is pointing up and left.

road sign in real life.
My signs are merely sign board itself, no matter what the real objects were comprised of it.
This is because I paid more attention to the situation that looks like signs in daily life to restore the originals of signs or grant new originals to them.
